Medusa tattoos

Medusa is among the motifs tattooed a lot in recent years, and almost always at a large scale. The reason is practical: the face and the snakes in her hair carry so much detail that at a small size they merge.
How much room it needs
Think thigh, upper arm or back. A Medusa on the forearm is possible, but it has to be simplified — fewer snakes and larger facial features, or in a few years it becomes a dark patch.
The portrait is the hard part
On a face the eye catches even a very small deviation, so the portrait takes longer than the whole of the rest. It is work that cannot be rushed, and the estimated sitting length reflects that.
